Singapore Headache Relief

by Aras Ignatavicius D.C.

Ninety percent of working adults will experience headaches. While the experience is just occasional for some, others will suffer from frequent headaches that may be classified as severe, causing nausea and pain that is debilitating. A Singapore chiropractor shares the following tips on alleviating headaches. If headaches persist, it is time to visit the chiropractic clinic.

Persons who of necessity must spend a great deal of time in fixed positions, including the large number of people who spend hours each day in front of computers, need to take a break on occasion. A five-minute break to stretch, walk to the bathroom or get a drink of water can help. Take some time tom move the head back in forth, in comfortable stretches.

Try exercise. Many headaches are relieved by low-impact exercise. However, persons prone to throbbing headaches may want to avoid any heavy exercise. Instead, these persons may want to include even lower impact exercises such as walking.

Don't clench your teeth if you want to avoid headaches. The lower and upper teeth should only touch if the person is eating or swallowing. Clenching the teeth is related to TMJ problems. The irritation of nerves in this joint can lead to tension headaches in many people who clench their teeth. The body should always be kept hydrated to prevent headaches. Headache sufferers should try to consume a minimum of eight glasses of water daily. Avoid caffeinated beverages as well as those high in sugar. They often lead to further dehydration. Artificial sweeteners may also add to the headache. In most instances water is a better choice than soda or sports drinks.

Although there are many different possible causes for headaches, the above-mentioned tips from a Singapore chiropractor may help to prevent headaches. Additionally, in cases where people still suffer from headache pain, chiropractic adjustments can decrease the frequency and severity of headaches and their pain.
